Woman accused of stealing swimwear from Walmart

BROOKSVILLE - A woman was handed a citation Wednesday after walking out of a store with stolen swimwear, deputies said.

Saige Danielle Gonzales, 20, was seen stuffing items into her purse shortly before 4 p.m. at the Walmart at 13300 Cortez Blvd., according to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office.

A Walmart employee saw Gonzales looking nervous and stuffing a swimsuit into her purse and walking to other areas of the store, deputies said.

She was stopped outside and returned to the store without incident, according to an arrest report.

The recovered stolen items included a women's swimsuit, cosmetics, a purse and a pair of sunglasses – all of which totaled more than $198, deputies said.

Gonzales was charged with misdemeanor retail theft and was released after receiving her citation, according to the report.
